Hi everyone...I am new here and I have been diligently reading all of the posts and have learned a lot from all of your experience. My son, 7 weeks old, is definitely colicky. However, when he eats, he will push away from the bottle and cry. Feeding him is quite a battle. He doesn't spit up a lot, but he does seem to be doing it more and more the older he gets. He also sounds like he has liquid in the back of his throat sometimes. I have seen him gagging a number of times...eating or not. Any of you moms with reflux babies think he could have reflux? My doctor says it's colic but I'm not so sure. Also he doesn't usually fight with us while feeding at night...I'm not sure what this means. Any advice would be appreciated!

sounds like reflux to me...my son has it..i would get a second opinion if i were you....my son is better in the middle of the night as well........i think he is just so tired from all the restlessness during the day that he is ok at night...allthough he is colicky too so in the evening and all day he is also extremely gassy on top of everything else.....
how does your son sleep during the day????

He takes one long nap in the middle of the day. He sleeps in his swing; otherwise he would nap on and off. Sometimes he will fall asleep in the car but cries if I have to stop. :cry2 When he is drowsy he definitely eats better!

It sounds like reflux to me. Our pediatrician told us it was colic too. It was a major battle getting a correct diagnosis and finally getting some help.

Here's a link to some information I posted at TLOL. Hope it helps:

Thanks for the advice. His 8 wk checkup is next Wed., I videotaped him screaming and squirming during eating; hopefully this will convince his ped. to do something!
