Okay let's see if we can get things rolling here a little bit!
I am mom to two children. Jennifer who will be 4 in March and Stephen who just turned two months (and who is attached to me at the moment, snoring away, in his carrier :) )
Both of my kids were/are colic stricken.
Ummmm... what else?? I run a couple of websites (see my profile) and work from home. I honestly don't know how moms and dads do it who have to get up and go to work in the mornings
I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi Vickie,
Things are going great!!!!!! Colic is now down to a minimum, thank God!!!!!
I am a 911 dispatcher but am interested in working at home, would love to be home with my little one. If you have any information I would really be interested in receiving it.
Now that I have returned to work I am finding that my once very gratifying career isn't so gratifying anymore. I miss my son during the long 12 hour shifts I work. I work 4 days and then am off for 4 days, but the days that I work seem to go on forever and ever.
I guess being a new mom makes you reconsider what is really important in your life.
Any information you have would be appreciated greatly.
I also have two daughters age 12 and 13 and would love to be home with them. They are wonderful and a great help with my new son. They would also love it if I could work at home.
I have been a 911 dispatcher since 1981. I also worked as a paramedic until I was injured in 1991. I have three wonderful children and a wonderful husband.
This is my first experience with colic and have found that this site is a wonderful place to be. Very informative and I get a feeling of warmth from the others that have replied to my posts. Thank you so much.

Hi there!
Hmmmm... working at home is really dependent on what you like to do. I was REALLY lucky and found a nice little niche with websites.
http://www.thelaboroflove.com
http://www.amazingpregnancy.com
http://www.momswhothink.com
and of course this one :)
What do you enjoy doing?? Is it something that you think other people would be interested in learning about or sharing with you??
I really believe that if you love what you do, the money will come. It may take a little while, but it WILL come.
Re your current job, is there anyway you could change your hours?? Perhaps making shorter shifts and working more days? Hmmm that doesn't really sound very good either :( I can understand how hard it is for you and my heart goes out to you.
I am glad that you have found the support you needed here! I told my husband that even if no one else arrives here besides you, I consider this site a success because I was able to help you through and find a solution that helped calm the colic beast. :)

There are so many things that I enjoy and I learn quickly. I plan on getting my license to be a Massage Therapist, but this takes time. I will have to stay with my current job until I can finish school and establish a client base. I am looking for something to do now at home besides child care. Only want to have time for my little one, selfish I know, but I only have eyes for him.
I can type 100 or more words a minute with no mistakes, and have thought about doing medical transcription at home, but have no idea on how to get into this field. I know many insurance companies hire people to work out of their homes but have no idea even how to find something like this. I am also medically trained, was a paramedic for years and have been in the fire service since 1981. I have been with my present employer for 12 years almost 13 now. It's not that I am dissatisfied with my job, it's that I yearn to be here with my little one.
I am sure with careful planning and research I will find something, but wanted to hear from other moms on how they were able to succesfully work from home.
Thank you for all your help, others will find your site and will come here, it's a great site and I will spread the word to everyone I know about how wonderful it is here. Once again, thank you so much!
