View Full Version : chiropractor visit
Hi there. My best friends baby had colic the only thing that she did that helpped him was to take him to a chiropractor. After a few visits he was a very happy little boy. I just thought that I would make a suggestion.
Jodi,
Do you know what exactly the chiroprator did to your friend's baby? Thanks in advance for your help.

I believe they just relined his back. Because your baby stays in the fetal position for so long it get's kinked after they are born. It is just like if you stayed in one position for too long then tried to straighten iit out. once everything is realigned everything feels better.

Hi. My husband and I take our twelve week old daughter, Anna, to the chiropractor three times a week. We've been doing this since she was eight weeks old and it seems to be helping her. We're gradually phasing out her visits now. The doctor makes 'adjustments' to her spine, and discovers areas that are tender. Over time, he has been realigning her spine. It's important to remember, though, that even though you might see some immediate improvement, your baby could slip back into his/her old ways unless treatment is continued (at least for the first little while) for several visits.
Our chiropractor holds Anna upright against his shoulder and makes gentle adjustments. He found some tender areas in her lower spine (the region of the spine that contributes to proper digestive functioning). This is consistent with her difficulty in passing bowel movements and painful, crying spells.
We believe the chiropractor to be a healthy natural healing option. Just as chiropractors help adults to function normally and optimally, so too, do they affect babies. Curious and I admit, somewhat skeptical, I also was adjusted. I wanted to see what chiropractic was all about because I've read so much about it being a scam. On the contrary - the doctor was accurate in pinpointing areas in my own spine that were tender and I have found the treatments to be beneficial too. Before we chose our chiropractor, we talked with him at length about his experience and learned that he had been adjusting babies since they were just a few hours old. The treatment has helped our little Anna, I'm sure and now that she's three months old, she's starting to smile at the world.
Best of luck,
Laura
