My daughter recently was given Zantac (.6ml/2X Day)
for what I believe is reflux problems. She would
spit up some, very uncomfortable during feeding and
after, gas, and inconsoluble crying. No major problems
during nighttime sleeping although. She is gaining weight
and growing very well. 4 lbs in 6 weeks.
She has just started her 7th week, and my wife and I
see that she is such much more controlled while feeding and
we are able to console her when she as problems. My
questions are: The Zantac appears to make her sleepy,
have other parents observed this? Do you adjust the
dosage to help with this? Any long term problems while
using Zantac? The doctor said to perhaps try a
lactose free formula, we currently use Enfamil w/ Iron
but he said if the Zantac is working keep using it.
Has any other parents been able to relieve reflux
by changing formulas? Any other info. reguarding the
use of Zantac would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
