Has anyone tried taking their colicky baby to a chiropractor? My seven week old daughter, born June 27th, has crying sessions that sometimes last for hours. She balls up her fists, stiffens her whole body, turns bright red, passes gas and struggles and strains at almost every bowel movement. She doesn't smile much at all, and seems generally unhappy. We have good and bad days but because my husband works during the day, I try and take care of her during the night so that he can get some sleep. I feel sleep deprived, and sad, particularly when I look into her pain filled eyes. Anna is exclusively breastfed so switching formulas is not an option. We've tried special colic cds, gripe water, car rides, rocking, swing, baths, everything. Sometimes her poor throat gets sore from so much crying and her cry changes to a painful, hoarse sounding scream. I'm coping with the knowledge that things will get better with time but I was wondering if chiropractic treatments might help? Any advice?

Thanks in advance,
Laura

I have no actual experience myself but the chiropractor i see does alot of work with the Amish babies in our area. Nearly everytime I visit her there is an Amish Mom in the waiting room with her baby. It obviously helps or they wouldn't keep going. My baby grandaughter was diagnosed with colic and we give her catnip tea which has worked wonderfully. It is totally harmless and it calms thier stomach. Its only side effect is drowsiness so you shouldn't over do it or they will sleep constantly. We have only had to use it a few times as it seemed to clean her out and relieve the intestinal disorder she had. Catnip has been used in my family for a couple generations now. Hope things get better for you and your baby soon.
