Hello,
Has anybody tried giving their baby mylanta for colic/reflux? my little boy has terrible reflux and people have suggested I try mylanta but I don't know how much I should give him.
He did suffer from what I thought was severe colic but now I realise it was mild colic combined with lack of sleep. I would like to stop the reflux, even though it doesnt' worry him I have to feed him quite often because he throws up so much of his bottle.

Hi, my 8 week old daughter has been on Nutramigen now for about two and a half weeks. We saw a big improvement for about 4 days then the colic was back in full force. I spoke to my Ped yesterday and he suggested trying Mylanta after every bottle (1cc). Olivia eats quite frequently (can only get her to take 2 ounces at a time) so I've been giving it every other bottle. I started last night and so far so good, the real test will come tonight. Hopefully it'll be better than last nights 2 hour screaming session. Good luck, I hope this helps our little ones

Hope you're having some luck with the Mylanta, it has been an absolute miracle drug for us. Olivia has gone to bed without screaming/crying for the last 3 nights. Now that I look back I feel so bad that I didn't realize she was experiencing reflux. She constantly choked while taking a bottle, has drooled since she was 6 weeks old and would spit up up to 2 hours after she ate. If this does work for your baby, I would recommend talking to your Pediatrician from what I understand, Mylanta shouldn't be used as a permanant fix. He said he would switch Olivia to zantac if the Mylanta was still working after a week.
Good luck

I am trying mylanta on my son who is about 1 and 1/2 months old as the infacol drops did not work him . The doc actually provided a mixture comprising mylanta, water and buscopan. Can anyone tell me how long can I put my son on this mixture without causing any long term effects? And what are the long term effects, if any.
Thanks.
