My son has been on 30mg of Prevacid since 5 months old. Doctor suggeted keeping on until 9 months. He has improved so much the last few months I started reducing his dosage to 15mg (when he turned 8 months on 12/18) so that we could start to slowly wean him from it. After 10 days he has begun much more bloated and gassy (belching) the last few days and this then forces food back up. Tonight he threw up nearly 100% of his dinner. He has never thrown up like this before. He generally spits up small amounts through out the day. Could the lowering of the dosage be the cause? Perhaps I should return to the 30mg dose and wait another month or two.
