ds was put on 15mg packets a week ago and was doing really well and is now crying again.

Does this seem like alot?
Should I split it in to two doses? How would I go about doing this?
I know it takes a good 2 weeks. I have been giving him Maloox about 4 times a day, but cut that down, cause it was making him poop right through his diaper. But when I stopped that the crying began. Also my mother gave him cereal over the weekend Saturday. Gerber with soy ingerdiants? He does not do well on soy..could this still be afecting him?

When is the best time to give this? Baby is still eating every 4 hours or so even at night. I heard it is best to give on an empty stomach.

Any advice would be helpful.

Ya know I'm not sure...

it seemed like nearly a week after my son was put on zantac the crying started up again... mind you it never totally left, but it was full force screaming, fussing, crying pain fits. He's on the 15mg 3x's a day and you can tell when it's time for another dose because he will get fussier than usual and spit up more.

I don't know if that is alot. But what are the packets? do you not get it compounded by the pharmacist? That is the way I was able to get it. I know compounding takes a special pharmacy that is set up to do it, but it is worth the trip.

My DD was on one 1mg twice a day but I don't know the strength of it. The Dr had upped the strength at one point and the amount didn't change, so it is rather confusing.

How old is your baby? maybe weight another day to see if the cereal has had its effect out. You could always go back to the Malox and try to ween ds off of it. My Dr said the best was to give it about 1 hour to 1/2 an hour before feeding, but really the most important was to make sure she was given the medication. Most of the time it ended up being about 10 minutes before she ate. She is going on a year next month is now a very happy and content baby. The crying didn't stop suddenly, it was kind of a gradual thing, so hang in there.
