We just transitioned our 5 mo. old, Nicole, off Alimentum. She has done well with it except that now her reflux symptoms seem a little worse. The doc. said I could increase the dose to 1.5 ml if her symptoms seemed to worsen as she grew.

I am just wondering if any of you have run into this problem. Of course the Similac Lactose Free is not as easily digested as the Alimentum so I am wondering if because her tummy has to work harder could that mean it needs to produce a little more acid and thus worsening her reflux slightly?

I did increase her dose beginning this morning and it seemed to help. I just found this interesting that it happened within days of making the change.

We tried doing the same with our 6mo. old from nutramagin over to lacoto free and it just upset his stomach right away. SO we just went right back to nutramagin. The Doc has increased his Zantac and Reglan according to his weight, which we took for granted until the switch.
I think we are starting to run into more problems as we have introduced jar food. He is starting to become more of a fussy baby like before. The only one he seems to like is the bananna. But we think that after a while that one will start upsetting his stomach as well.

 :(

Try switching to ENFAMIL AR it is a formula for reflux babies..It works great..You can get it through WIC and all you need to do is get a perscription from your doctor for it..It works great..Veronica:)
